Las Vegas Child Support Lawyer
Focused on the Best Interests of Your Child
Child support is an issue that often arises in a
legal separation when there are minor children involved. In a divorce, this issue is typically
addressed after a
custody arrangement is worked out, since the non-custodial parent is often required
to pay child support to the custodial parent.
Whether you are a parent seeking child support or are facing the possibility
of having to pay child support, you can benefit from involving a lawyer
who is experienced in handling issues of this kind. For a
free review of your case, we welcome you to contact a Las Vegas divorce attorney at

We are dedicated lawyers with almost 60 years of combined legal experience

How Is Child Support Calculated?
In Nevada, child support amounts are determined based upon set guidelines,
standardizing the manner in which child support is determined. The court
takes a number of different factors into account and always considers
the best interests of the child before making a final decision.
Factors that may impact a child support award include:
- The income of each spouse
- The number of children
- The physical timeshare of the children
For one child, 18 percent of gross monthly income will be allocated for
support. If there are two children, the percentage rises to 25 percent
and continues to rise depending on the number of children. The court may
also consider the medical and educational needs of the child, along with
any special needs that exist.
